Grace’s Fitness Fun

Tennis for Fitness

Grace has been talking about wanting to play some kind of sport for her exercise for a while. I know Grace hates to work out the way I do. That is probably why we don’t go jogging any more. A while ago I asked Grace if she wanted to work out with my mom to help get her in shape. She responded with something about she would not be able to keep up with my mom. After a while of talking to Grace about it, she agreed to work out with my mom, but only if she got to choose what the exercise was going to be. So tennis it was. Grace has been looking at athletes trying to see what sports they played to get there body physique. That is how she decided on tennis. I was going for moral support (aka Photographing the event). After a while, Grace wanted me to play and give her a rest. It was a fun night, but the next day I was paying for it. An old injury that I had started acting up and gave me some problems. Next time I am just going to stick to photography. It hurts less.

Gundam in Tokyo

Gundam Tokyo, originally uploaded by AppuruPai.

Well this is probably somebody’s dream come true in Tokyo right now. Someone has build a 1 to 1 scale Gundam from a popular amine. I figure just give them a couple more years and they will turn the shell into a working prototype. It looks to either have been made or is sponsored by Green Tokyo. I am really not sure since I can’t read Japanese. Later when I have some more time I’ll look into this a bit more and find out some more info about this.

First Published Photo

Well, from finalist to published. I just received an e-mail telling me that Schmap is going to use my image in their website. Plus there is actual photo credit. If you click on my photo from there page it will take you to my Flickr. Who knows maybe I should try my hand at a bit more destination and travel photography.

Krista's Birthday Party

Krista had her birthday party last night. It was a great time that started out at Dave & Buster's at the Block of Orange. The food was good and Dave & Duster's was fun, but it got even better when we went back to Ron’s Place. There was Wii bowling and beergarita, my favorite drink. While there Kalen wanted to try playing the piano. Kalen had a few drinks before playing but Matt was able to hear the sounds of Final Fantasy X from out in the backyard and came in to see what was going on. The party continued until about 4 or 5 am when most of the people needed to go home to get ready for work.

End of the month Flickr War

Well it is another month down in Grace and my Flickr war. She is actually starting to get a little closer now that she has been posting her images to groups. I will still win this war though. As for having my Flickr account I have actually seen one of my images wind up being selected as a finalist to go into a brochure. The company Schmap selected one of my images that I took of downtown San Diego. I would not be getting paid for the usage, just photo credit, but if anyone cares to look at the photo credit I might get a few more hit on my Flickr.

Elephant Seal Viewing Point

Well, between playing World of Warcraft and sleep I have still been working on the Big Sur vacation photos. On our last day we stopped off at an elephant seal viewing point in Point Piedras Blancas.

First time astrophotographer

The first night we were out camping I tried my hand at some astrophotography. After setting up my and noticing that I would not be able to avoid the trees at any angle, I started trying to figure out the exposures. I kicked myself once I realized that I would only be able to shoot for 30 seconds since I forgot my cable release at home. So I cranked up the ISO and shot a f/4 hoping that I would get something that wasn’t going to be that noisy. After a bit of processing this is what I got.

Big Sur at Night
Hard to see at this size but I cought a couple of shooting stars.
